Can I use FieldTap for variable-radius (prism/BAF) plot cruises?

Yes. There are templates for variable-radius plot cruises. You set your basal area factor (BAF), record in/out trees at each plot, and capture species, DBH, height and defect for every tally tree. Trees-per-acre factors are calculated when you export.

Does FieldTap work offline in remote forest areas?

Yes. FieldTap stores data on the device first, so you can create records, fill out cruise forms, take GPS-tagged photos and move between plots with no cell service. It syncs when you're back in range.

What export formats does FieldTap support for cruise data?

You can export cruise data to CSV for volume calculations in your preferred cruise compilation software (e.g., SuperACE, TCruise, or custom spreadsheets). Spatial data exports as Shapefile or GeoJSON for GIS mapping in ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.

Can multiple cruisers work on the same project?

Yes. Several cruisers can work different plots in the same project at once, all on the same forms. Their data merges when each of them syncs. Each person's role controls what they can see and edit.

How does GPS tagging work for cruise plots?

Each record is tagged with your device's GPS coordinates, along with the accuracy. Plots show up on a map in the app, so you can see which ones are done and navigate to the ones that aren't.
